Premier League Looking At Possibility Of Two-Week Winter Break
The Premier League is close to accepting a proposal for a two-week winter break, starting in 2020.
The proposal means every Premier League football will be played on weekends, but the games are played such that there are five games one weekend, and five games the next.
This means all 20 teams in the top flight will have a free weekend, and a 13-day cushion.
However, the decision rests on the Football Association who must stop replays and move all their games midweek.
The Football League has stated it cannot afford the break, as it needs all the time it can get to play all 46 matches for each team.
