Steve McQueen cut his teeth directing the 12 Years a Slave movie which had Lupita Nyong’o as a star member and also won Best Picture at the Academy Awards. For his new movie widows, he will be collaborating with the author of ‘Gone Girl’, Gillian Flynn for this dramatic thriller.

The story is about four women who decide to finish the heist that led to the deaths of their criminal husbands. If this story doesn’t catch your attention enough, the stellar cast sure would.

With Viola Davis, Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Rodriguez, Cynthia Eviro, Colin Farrell, Daniel Kaluuya, Liam Neeson, Robert Duvall, Carrie Coon, Garret Dillahunt, Jacki Weaver, Brian Tyree Henry, and Jon Bernthal on the cast, we are sure in for an explosive movie.

If Beale Street Could Talk

While the release date of this movie is yet to be announced, the story is sure enough to catch your fancy. Barry Jenkins rose to the top of the cinematic food chain with 2016’s Moonlight, and this movie which is expected to serve as his follow up will most likely keep him there.

The movie is adapted from James Baldwin’s novel of the same name and it tells the story of a pregnant wife determined to prove that her husband has been falsely accused of rape before their child is born. You should expect it to arrive just in time for nominations for the Academy Awards.

Hold The Dark

Hold the dark movie
Also yet to be announced, hold the dark will have one of the emerging great director in control of things. Jeremy Saulnier (Green Room) has recently been tabbed to direct the forthcoming third season of HBO’s True Detective (starring Mahershala Ali).

Before handling the HBO project though, he will deliver a dark-sounding thriller with Jeffrey Wright, Riley Keough, and Alexander Skarsgard. The story is based on a wolf expert asked to locate a missing boy in a remote Alaskan town where kids are being ravaged by wolves. We definitely can’t wait to watch this.
